«Soul for you» is a protest song, a statement, a creation of two different artists who share the same view, with positive vibes, love and respect. The message is clear: The Swiss-Swahili female writer and vocalist BØNE sings about living between two different worlds, “too light-skinned for black spirit, too dark-skinned for same privilege”. The producer Lazer Boomerang, who already had planned to create a new song with a political message, found her via the internet and instantly fell in love with her vibes, her voice and personality. 3 weeks laters, “Soul for you” was finished.
